Lake Bluff Campground – Clean and Quiet

Everyone should experience a camping trip to Upstate New York using a rental RV at least once in their lives. It is the perfect chance to get away from the largest metropolis in America and enjoy some time buried in nature without worrying about crowds. The Wayne County Shores of Lake Ontario will manage to tug at your heartstrings with the forested hillsides, wineries, and endless apple orchards.

Since it is a rural area, there are not many places one can stay at. Lake Bluff Campground is a 1.5 miles drive from the southern part of Lake Ontario, close to Wolcott, New York. The best part is that this campground is also a stone-throw distance from Chimney Bluffs State Park. This park came into existence 10,000 years ago when the glaciers melted and formed egg-shaped hills in the region. These gorgeous hills can be seen even today, and individuals can enjoy various activities, from wildlife viewing to hiking, picnicking, and fishing.

This is an RV campground with a variety of permanent and semi-permanent camps. The total RV sites amount to 150, with 85 being seasonal sites. The area can fit RVs up to 40 feet and has four cabins and 150 spaces for tent sites.

Directions to Lake Bluff Campground

If going by car, continue traveling north on Lake Bluff Road. Three miles later, you will find yourself on Garner Road. Continue up this road, and in 100 yards on the right, the Lake Bluff Campground will arrive.

What we Love About Lake Buff Campground

1.      Beautiful Location

If you go further up north towards the Great Lakes Shore of New York, you will find the crowds thinning out, giving you the peace and quiet you have been craving for several long months. Lake Bluff Campground is located in a beautiful rural setting to the east of Rochester.

The campsites here provide full hookups for RV rentals, and you will find hot showers and clean bathrooms on-site. There is nothing worse than living in an area where the restrooms are dirty and stinky, but you have nothing to worry about when you make your way to Lake Bluff Campground.

2.      Loads of Activities

The campground has everything you might need, owing to the convenience store always being fully stocked. This family-friendly campground had loads of activities to keep individuals of all ages entertained at all times. Little children can spend their days in the playground, on the jumping castle, or explore the horseshoe pits, shuffleboard courts, miniate golf spaces, and dive into the swimming pool.

You can cuddle up with the love of your life in the cabins here and cook a fresh, homemade meal too. The campground farm sells fresh produce that you take home and whip up into some delicious as you eat your feast around the campfire. Even though Lake Bluff Campground is so close to Sodus Bay and other famous areas, it is located in a forested area, making it perfect for a quick getaway from city life.

You can participate in some recreational facilities if you aren’t out all day exploring the Finger Lakes. Biking, basketball, ping pong, extensive nature trails, frog ponds, and nature watching are everyday activities that individuals turn to when they visit Lake Bluff Campground.

3.      Gorgeous Cabins

If you have brought your family along, we recommend choosing the biggest cabin provided by Lake Bluff Campground. The two cabins here are small and can feel cramped with children. One of the most famous cabins here is the Chimney Bluffs Rental Cabin which features two bunk beds, a microwave, a refrigerator, and a small table. Even though this is one of the two smaller cabins, it is perfect for a couple.

It has a rustic nature while being incredibly clean- a quality that all visitors notice and appreciate. When you step outside this cabin, you will find a small porch where you can spend your evenings watching the sunset with your loved one, as well as a charcoal grill and picnic table on days you want to barbeque a quick meal.

Tips for When You Visit Lake Bluff Campground

  • If you do not like hard beds, remember to take some extra padding with you. The beds at Lake Bluff Campground cabins include a single, thin mattress spread on top of a plywood frame.
  • There are no towels, pillows, or sheets, so we recommend taking essentials from home.
  • If you plan on setting up a tent, ask the authorities for an area in the rear of the campground. Make sure to do this when you call for your booking. This area is away from the road in a wooden spot, so there are not too many permanent RVs parked here, giving you a bit of privacy and quiet.
  • A maximum of two pets are allowed per person. You must supervise your pets at all times and keep them on a leash that is at least 6 feet long.
