Scenic View Campground in West Winfield

All of the sites at Scenic View Campground are tidy, with the majority being flat and grassy. The campsites can accommodate the largest rigs on one end thanks to their roomy pull-thru sites, some of which include 50 amp electric. On the other hand, it provides a variety of rental possibilities, as well as riverfront sites perfect for tents and pop-ups and woodland tent sites.

No more than two vehicles and one camping unit or two tents are allowed per site. All other vehicles must be parked in specific spaces. The camping site also offers firewood for sale, so you don’t have to bring along your own. Also, cutting down trees or bushes is not permitted at all.

The park’s staff kindly urges that you refrain from bringing out-of-state wood due to pest infestation. By midnight, all flames must be put out. 10:00PM – 7:00AM. After nightfall, children under the age of 14 must be with an adult. All radios should be off during these times.

Camping

Scenic View campground offers some great campsites with a maximum of 6 people per site. There is a 3-night minimum stay during weekends and a one-night deposit while making reservations. The campsite at Scenic View offers primitive camping options only, which means tents only and no hookups. That said, there are also log cabins available for those who want to be more comfortable during their stay at the Scenic View Campground. A bar and grill has been running since 2017 and has become a major attraction specializing in pizzas, burgers, and chicken wings.

Fishing

There is only one pond where fishing is allowed, and only “catch and release” fishing. The big pond is not open to fishing. Only use barbless hooks. After dusk, no boating, fishing, or other water activities are allowed on the campsite.

Other Activities

The Scenic View campground offers some excellent hiking, fishing, bicycling, canoeing, and kayaking options which are all available in the vicinity. After a day of seeing the local sites, you may cool down in the heated, crystal-clear swimming pool, have fun on the 625-foot splash pad, or just relax by the pool. In season, we also provide events on the weekends.

According to the most recent COVID-19 recommendations, all available activities may have changed, so it is advised to check with the camp office before heading down to the Scenic View campground. Other events might include night swimming, outdoor movies, glitter tattoos, kid-friendly crafts, and tie-dying, but these will be publicized week by week on the Facebook page and the enormous whiteboard outside the leisure center.

Every camper has something to make their stay more comfortable and enjoyable, whether they select a site with RV comforts or a primitive site. Come stay in one of the lovely log cabins, each of which has a full kitchenette and bathroom and is located near the water. The property also has a terrific bar and grill.

It should be noted that the cottages here do not permit large gatherings. No smoking is permitted inside the cabin or outdoors. Pets are not allowed inside the cabin or outside. You are responsible for any damage to the cabin and/or lost TV/AC remote controls.

Pets

At check-in, rabies vaccination documentation is requested. We do accept pets at the park because we are aware that they are “part” of many camping families. All pets must be cleaned up after and never left unattended (FREE doggie bags are available at pet stations). Pets must always be on a leash when outside the camper. When you’re not at the campsite, never leave your pet alone. Barking too much is not permitted, and obnoxious pets may be asked to leave. Pets are not permitted in the playgrounds, bathhouses, or pool areas. Pets are not permitted with guests.
